Job Description
- Provide one-on-one counseling sessions to students interested in studying abroad, addressing their academic goals, personal aspirations, and career plans.
- Assess students' academic background, interests, and preferences to recommend suitable study abroad programs
- Collaborate with academic advisors, faculty, and study abroad coordinators to ensure seamless integration of study abroad programs with students' academic plans.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with partner institutions, study abroad providers, and relevant stakeholders to expand program offerings and enhance students' experiences.
- Conduct post-program evaluations and follow-ups with students to assess their experiences and gather feedback for program improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions, program details, and outcomes in a systematic and confidential manner.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and strategies for study abroad programs.
- Attend conferences, seminars, and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills related to study abroad counseling.
Job Specification
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. A master's degree is preferred.
- Proven experience in study abroad counseling, international education, or related fields of at least 1 year
- Comprehensive knowledge of study abroad programs, destinations, and academic systems worldwide.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, faculty, and external stakeholders.
- Excellent counseling and advising skills to guide students in making informed decisions and setting realistic goals.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and track program requirements.
- Proficiency in using technology and various software applications related to study abroad counseling.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address students' concerns and challenges.
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed and to travel occasionally for conferences or site visits.
