Job Description:

• Install, configure, and maintain database management systems including Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.
• Monitor database performance and optimize queries, indexing, and configurations to ensure efficient operation.
• Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions to safeguard data integrity and availability.
• Enforce database security policies and access controls to protect sensitive information.
• Perform routine database maintenance, upgrades, and patching activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Automate repetitive database tasks using scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Document database configurations, procedures, and policies for team reference and compliance.
• Collaborate with developers and IT teams on schema design and infrastructure requirements.
• Stay current with emerging database technologies and best practices to recommend improvements.

Job Specification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Up to 3 years of hands-on experience in database administration or related roles.
• Strong working knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server database systems.
• Proven ability in performance tuning, query optimization, and database configuration.
• Experience with backup strategies, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Solid understanding of database security principles, encryption, and role-based access controls.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows Server operating systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
