Key Roles Responsibilities
1. Core Accounting & Reporting
 Maintain books of accounts (GL, AP, AR, cash/bank)
 Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
 Perform journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
 Ensure timely closing of accounts

2. Revenue & Ticketing Accounting
 Record ticket sales (domestic/international)
 Account for:
o Airline commissions
o Service fees
o Incentives/overrides
 Handle cancellation, refunds, and reissuance accounting

3. BSP & IATA Reconciliation (Critical)
 Reconcile sales with BSP reports (Billing and Settlement Plan)
 Match ticketing data with airline statements

 Identify and resolve discrepancies
 Ensure timely remittance to IATA agent

4. Payables & Receivables Management
 Manage vendor payments (airlines, hotels, tour operators)
 Track receivables from agents/corporate clients
 Monitor credit limits and follow up on collections

5. Tax & Regulatory Compliance
 Handle VAT (output/input, reconciliation, filing)
 Manage TDS compliance
 Ensure compliance with IRD regulations
 Assist in audits and tax assessments

6. Foreign Transactions & Forex Handling
 Account for foreign currency transactions
 Manage exchange differences (forex gain/loss)
 Handle payments via dollar cards / bank transfers

7. Expense Control & Cost Monitoring
 Verify and book operational expenses
 Monitor profitability per ticket/package
 Control leakages in commissions and pricing

8. Internal Controls & Documentation
 Maintain proper supporting documents
 Implement controls over ticket issuance & refunds
 Ensure segregation of duties

9. System & MIS Reporting
 Work with accounting software (Tally)

 Generate MIS reports:
o Sales vs collections
o IATA agent payable position
o Profitability analysis

Key Skills Required
 Strong knowledge of accounting principles
 Understanding of travel industry (IATA,BSP, GDS, commissions)
 Proficiency in Tally / Excel / Word
 Attention to detail & reconciliation skills
 Knowledge of VAT/TDS
 Fluency in Nepali & English Typing
