Skill is a learning approach that leads to determining the ability to accomplish the task with proficiency. It provides an opportunity to develop a personal and professional career in today’s competitive market. In today's world of technology where different skills play crucial roles in order to compete with a global market, there are few skills that are highly in demand in the current market.

1. Customer Services Skills:

Customer services skills refer to effective communication along with good listening quality and problem-solving ability in order to ensure customer satisfaction. Employees with excellent customer service skills can have a massive impact on the company’s bottom line. So, organizations always look for those employees who hold strong customer services skills. Hence, the customer is the ultimate destination of any business so customer services skill is one of the important skills.

2. Digital Communication Skills:

In the modern world of technology, digitization has brought a revolution in the human lifestyle. Digital communication skills play a significant role to make effective and efficient communication through digital platforms including email, instant messaging, social networking, video conferencing, and other online communication technologies. Therefore, strong digital communication skills are highly valued across a wide range of businesses and also consider one of the major skills for a successful career.

3. STEM Skills:

The ability and knowledge required to understand (Science, technology, engineering, and math) are known as STEM Skills. Generally, these skills are divided into two types i.e. hard skills and soft skills. Hard skill basically covers specialized technical skill such as programming, data analysis, and coding whereas soft skill emphasized critical thinking, problem-solving, management, and creativity. An individual with STEM skills can provide meaningful insight into the overall performance.

4. Supply Chain Knowledge:

Supply chain knowledge is all about understanding an interconnected network of activities and processes involved in the production and delivery of a product or service from the raw materials to the final consumer. The one who has good knowledge of the supply chain will contribute to an organization to optimize its operations, reduce costs, and improve efficiency. With the help of this knowledge, a company can manage complex activities, maintain a proper inventory management system, and organize distribution channels.

5. Soft Skills and Emotional Intelligence:

Soft skill basically includes personal attributes, communication abilities, and social skills likewise, emotional intelligence is all about understanding human emotion through recognizing effort, and honesty and responding to the emotion accordingly. Employees must be able to communicate peacefully and successfully with people of all moods and personalities, regardless of their position or the business they work for. Soft skills and emotional intelligence are interrelated skills that focused on interpersonal communication, collaboration, emotional awareness, and management.
To prepare for the future, it's important to have a combination of traditional skills like customer service and soft skills, as well as skills that are increasingly in demand such as digital communication skills, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) competencies, and supply chain expertise.
