Change Management Context
In real-time, an enabling framework for managing the people and discipline side of change is change management. To ensure that those undergoing changes successfully absorb the changes, we must properly train, equip, and assist them. Changes won't be successful without adoption, and we won't achieve our goals without them. Furthermore, either top-down or open-source change management is the two models tracked by an organization.
Comparing the Two Change Management Models
Top-Down Change
As the initiative derives from the top, a top-down approach to change management implies imposed change. Making fast adjustments while only addressing issues as they arise is what top-down change is all about. Top-down approaches to change management cause opposition to grow, which is an issue. Despite the fact that lower-level employees are directly impacted, decision-making is centralized at higher levels of the company, removing them from the change process. For instance, in traditional businesses such as family businesses where the head of the family gives responsibilities and targets to other members without engaging in a discussion, this model is incorporated. Therefore, employees require a change management strategy that is engaging, humanizing, and transparent because the traditional top-down approach is stale.
Open-Source Change
Management can obtain more useful feedback about troublesome working areas by using a conversational and open approach. The open-source change model involves employees throughout the process rather than just telling them what will happen, making it less directive than top-down alternatives. In addition, it guarantees some degree of openness and collaboration among the chief human resources officers and employees in the decision-making process. This approach works best for IT and tech companies where everybody has different and valuable ideologies that contribute to success. Henceforth, these employees are primarily responsible for implementation planning, which increases the likelihood, that the project will be accepted and sustained.
Summary:
* Change initiatives are not easy task for any Organization. Organizations must juggle more change initiatives (at a faster pace) than ever before.
* Time has been changed, “Top-Down Change Management” strategies are no longer effective so now “Open Source Change” going popular day by day and most startup companies are accepted it to make operation smooth and stabilize.
* Open - Source Change involve employees in decision making and planning and through continued conversation.
